HENRO Project

HENRO Project.jpg

In Japan, there exists a Buddhist pilgrimage tradition known as 'Henro'. Pilgrims embark on a journey to visit 88 temples in the Shikoku region for spiritual training, a practice that dates back to the 8th century. Along the 'Henro' route, local residents have a longstanding tradition of serving and supporting pilgrims, embodying the Buddhist principles of hospitality and generosity.

Inspired by this spirit of support, Yui-ga has launched the 'Henro Project' since 2024. This initiative aims to assist artists and craftspeople from around the world in participating in art workshops and experiencing stays in Japan. These workshops encompass various disciplines such as ceramics, glasswork, woodworking, metalwork, and more, supplemented with Japanese translation services.
